Description

Mushrooms 4 Life combine the deep richness of organic Sumatran coffee with a twist of cardamom and vanilla and red Reishi for a calming lift without the crash. Mushroom coffees made with Reishi and Cordyceps offer a great alternative to regular coffee since they also contain compounds such as adenosine which may buffer the stimulatory effects of caffeine.

Reishi is known as the ‘Mushroom of Immortality’ in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and traditionally regarded as the preeminent medicinal mushroom to support the ‘Zheng Qi’ or vital life force. High in biologically active compounds such as triterpenoids and polysaccharides, Reishi may prove helpful in balancing inflammation. It is also considered an adaptogen to support stress reduction and relaxation.

Enjoy a moment of harmony any time of the day with the balancing effects of this revered mushroom. A smooth and delicious way to get your daily caffeine hit and therapeutic dose of mushrooms all in one go. Expert growers cultivate all Mushrooms 4 Life’s medicinal mushrooms on select organic farms and on their optimal food medium to ensure they contain only the purest bioactive compounds. All their products are third-party tested to ensure purity of the mushroom strain. They also screen for contaminants, pesticides and heavy metals, so you can be assured they are manufactured to the highest quality and standards.

Why should I use Reishi Zen Coffee?

Immunity

Reishi contains beta-glucans, a type of polysaccharide that has been shown to activate white blood cells, making them stronger and more efficient fighters against diseases.

Heart health

Reishi has been shown to contain compounds that reduce LDL cholesterol and blood pressure; key risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Liver health

Studies have highlighted reishi’s hepatoprotective effects

Allergies

Reishi is rich in triterpenes which have strong anti-inflammatory properties, combined with immunomodulatory action, this makes it an excellent choice for allergies and other inflammatory conditions.

Active ingredients

Polysaccharides

Studies have highlighted their ability to modulate immune function.

Triterpenoids

The most valuable constituents of reishi mushroom alongside its polysaccharides. Reishi has over 130 triterpenoid compounds that have been reported to be hepatoprotective, anti-histaminic, and be valuable for cardiovascular health amongst other actions.

Antioxidants

Act as a protective shield, safeguarding our cells from damage.

Why mushrooms?

Mushrooms are nature’s biological communicators, forming vast invisible networks that connect individual plants, and transfer water and nutrients. As mushrooms grow, they enrich the forest floor and plants in a symbiotic relationship, a form of communication which some have coined the Wood Wide Web. This ability to ‘speak to’ the plant kingdom at a deep cellular level is also what makes them so valuable to us. In humans, research shows they may be regarded as biological response modifiers (BRMs), acting on the immune system to restore balance where it is needed.

Fungi kingdom

Although we might assume fungi to be part of the plant kingdom, they are more closely related to animals, and humans and fungi share a common ancestry in 30% of our DNA. To date approximately 700 species of mushroom have been identified as having therapeutic value and together they form some of the most potent medicines found in the natural world.

Potent natural medicines

Beyond their capacity to colonise, mushrooms have developed an innate hardiness over many millennia. This gives them a natural advantage in a range of habitats, from Chaga conk in Siberia—which can survive temperatures of -40C—to the high Tibetan plateaus which are home to a rare species of Cordyceps fungus. It also means they have evolved some unique defences against disease in a set of pharmacologically active compounds that can benefit humans.
